A video showing a Donald Trump impersonator behind bars on a Tehran billboard has gone viral, as Iran used the display to criticise Washington over a deadly strike on a wedding in southern Iran.
The installation above Tajrish Square in northern Tehran featured an actor wearing a mask resembling the US president, a dark suit and a red tie. The mock prison cell contained a bed, toilet and sink, with the performer seen pacing inside and gripping the bars.
An electronic screen behind the cage displayed images related to the strike on a home in Kuhestak, in Sirik county of Hormozgan province, where a wedding was taking place. The billboard carried the English slogan, “It is a crime not to see this scene”.

Iranian state media said Tehran’s Beautification Organization, which operates under the city’s municipal authorities, launched the display as part of a 15-day campaign.
The installation comes amid tensions following US and Israeli attacks on Iran since February 28. Tehran has also used public displays to criticise the US president, including an earlier installation depicting Trump lying inside a coffin.
