Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will sanction the Cheyathu pension scheme for 4.5 lakh eligible beneficiaries at an event in Kodangal on Sunday, November 8.

The Cheyutha pensions will cover eligible single women, widows, persons with disabilities, toddy tappers, weavers and filaria patients.

The pension scheme was initially planned for Dusshera but was postponed due to the pending verification process of more than six lakh applications. A total of 6,00,917 applications were submitted between August 10 and September 15, via gram panchayats, Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) offices, ward offices, municipal and MeeSeva centers.

The verification process involved checking the applicants’ land records, vehicle registrations, employee details and GST records. This was followed by on-ground verification by designated officials at the mandal and municipal levels.
