The Supreme Court has ruled that the 24-hour deadline for producing an arrested person before a magistrate begins from the time of actual detention, not the formal arrest. అరెస్టు చేసిన వ్యక్తిని మేజిస్ట్రేట్ ముందు హాజరుపర్చేందుకు ఉన్న 24 గంటల గడువు, అధికారిక అరెస్టు నుండి కాకుండా, వాస్తవంగా నిర్బంధించిన సమయం నుండే ప్రారంభమవుతుందని సుప్రీం కోర్టు తీర్పు ఇచ్చింది.
