Madhya Pradesh: Gunshots were fired and provocative communal slogans were raised outside the Jama Masjid in Madhya Pradesh, raising security concerns.
The incident occurred in Damoh on Ayudha Pooja day, where a large group of right-wing supporters, screaming Jai Shri Ram slogans, gathered outside the mosque at night and started firing shots and wielding swords.
In Uttar Pradesh, during a Durga idol immersion procession, loud DJ music claimed the life of a baby boy, born just two days ago. The incident took place near the Ram Janaki temple.
Idols from several local Durga Puja pandals were brought to the town’s Ramlila ground before the immersion in the Chargahwa River. The family’s home is reportedly less than 30 metres from the ground.
